A few of our listener comments...
"Hoping it's not too late to contact Cowes Radio especially as I wish to congratulate you. Last Sunday while on the island I picked up Cowes Radio and gathered that the Fastnet Race was soon to begin. It sounded like something worth seeing even though I know nothing of sailing nor yachts. I am no sailing enthusiast but found your programme both informative and interesting. It made for a great afternoon so thanks for your broadcasting skills. It is so unusual these days to hear what I call professional broadcasters that can inform and entertain without banal chat or modern pop music.
The close down with the reading of John Masefield's Sea Fever brought a lump to my throat. Well done to all at Cowes Radio. "
"Thank you for the wonderful coverage this week and what a close; Simon Vigar reading ‘Sea Fever’ then rolling straight into Don Henley’s ‘Boys of Summer’! You really got me on that one. I had to learn and recite this poem in grade school and that song was on my driving music CD when I lived in California.
I’ve done Cowes Week several times, the Fastnet once and will be back next year.
In the meantime please send me information on advertising if you’re not already fully booked. I think your programming connects especially well with its listeners and a rifle shot on my customers."
"Thanks for your great coverage of the Fastnet start- listening here from deepest Oxfordshire "
"We are enjoying your coverage of the Fastnet start from up here in Aberdeenshire - pity you don't have television coverage as well!"
"So thank you once again for your wonderful efforts relayed here to Portugal, so very much appreciated."
